The mom of the teenager gunned down by the nephew of former Dragon’s Den star Michael Wekerle stated Jonathan Weir “sentenced Tyler to death” in her psychological sufferer effect assertion on Wednesday.

Weir, 24, of Caledon, pleaded responsible to manslaughter in October 2021 for the device-gun shooting dying of Tyler Swartz, 18, on Dec. 28, 2018.

Swartz mentioned she moved to Canada from South Africa due to the fact it was safer listed here.

“But Jonathan could not handle himself or his violent impulses,” she explained, introducing that her son was shot “not as soon as, but twice”.

She also lambasted Weir for covering up the slaying and not demonstrating any regret, displaying only “silence and cowardice.”

“Jonathan desires to be held accountable. His cowardly actions have shattered my life, my family’s everyday living. Jonathan sentenced Tyler to loss of life … and he sentenced me to everyday living in jail.”

Swartz’s two sisters also gave target effects statements, detailing their brother’s brief life and stunning dying. Both of those expressed dismay at the justice system’s coddling of criminals.

Wekerle reported he was out of the state at the time of the shooting.
