5 Reasons to Live in Brighton

Brighton is a much-loved city on the south coast and one of the most popular tourist destinations in England, but have you ever thought about living there? Brighton can be a fantastic place to live for people of all ages and this is for a number of different reasons. Here are 5 of the best reasons to live in this charming coastal city.

  1. Proximity to the Capital

One reason to live in Brighton is that it is close to the capital at around 50 miles, so you can simply jump on a train travelling to London Bridge from Brighton and be in London in just over an hour. While this means that you can commute (and many do), Brighton also has a very different feel to London so you can benefit from both worlds.

  1. Business-Friendly

Following on from this, Brighton is also a great place to start a new business or find work as a business-friendly city and home to many small businesses. In fact, Brighton has won the title of “best place to start a small business in the UK” in both 2016 and 2018 so any budding entrepreneurs will certainly enjoy life here.

  1. 8-Mile Long Beach

The beach is, of course, one of Brighton’s main attractions and a key reason why it is such a popular tourist destination. Living here means that you can enjoy living by the sea and enjoy the beach throughout the year – while it can get busy in the summer, you can usually find quiet spots and avoid the crowds. Living by the sea can be therapeutic for many and although it can get windy in the winter months, there is something special about this time of year in Brighton too.

  1. Arts & Culture

Brighton is also a pioneer when it comes to arts and culture and somewhere that anyone with an interest in these areas will love. You have the Royal Pavilion which has a collection of galleries and exhibitions, a famous music scene, cool independent pubs, bars and restaurants and a general progressive, artistic atmosphere which adds to the city’s charm.

  1. Close Proximity to the Countryside

You really are well-positioned when you live in Brighton as you are living in a busy city that is close to the sea with a laidback atmosphere, you are close enough to the capital and you are also surrounded by stunning countryside. You can simply jump on a bus in the town centre and be on the South Downs in just 15 minutes and this can be a great way to escape, enjoy fresh air and take in the stunning natural beauty of Sussex.

These are just 5 reasons to consider living in Brighton and it is certainly somewhere that has something for everyone.
