Ronnie James Dios widow has claimed the late steel legend penned his 1983 hit ‘Holy Diver’ for Black Sabbath at first.
The seminal musician – who died from tummy cancer aged 67 in 2010 – changed Ozzy Osbourne as frontman of the ‘Paranoid’ group following he was fired by his bandmates in 1979.
Former Rainbow bandleader Dio appeared on a few Sabbath studio albums, 1980’s ‘Heaven and Hell’, 1981’s ‘Mob Rules’ and 1992’s ‘Dehumanizer (1992).
He give up in 1982 to form Dio and took their drummer Vinny Appice with him. He later on formed Heaven and Hell with Sabbath’s axe-slayer Tony Iommi.
And all through an job interview on ‘Full Metal Jackie’ to mark what would have been Dios 80th birthday, his wife Wendy uncovered ‘Holy Diver’ and ‘Don’t Talk to Strangers’ have been both penned by Dio when he was even now in Sabbath.

She spilled: “Ronnie generally did what he wanted to do. He hardly ever listened to what the document label required or any person else. He generally stuck to his guns in creating the album. He hoped it would be successful. None of us realised how successful it was heading to be. In other places, Wendy spoke about providing ‘Stranger Things’ a vintage Dio jacket for Joe Quinn’s Eddie Munson to dress in in the hit Netflix sc-fi sequence.
She explained: “It’s amazing. I think Ronnie would be so happy and so happy that all this time afterwards there is new generations listening to and wearing his things. In advance of the pandemic, they questioned me if they have authorization to license the symbol and they were being heading to buy some Dio stuff for the sequence.
“I claimed, ‘I have classic things, why will not I ship you some?’ They had been quite appreciative, but then I did not listen to everything for [a while] and I considered it need to have been forgotten or not employed. All of a unexpected, the sequence is on and Eddie [Munson, one of the main characters] is carrying Ronnie’s The Final In Line T-shirt on his denim jacket and I believed it was so astounding.
