Students of class 11 have to focus on mathematics as it is an important subject. They have to study mathematics for both class 11 and competitive exams. Students of class 11 have to work hard to understand the topics of class 11 mathematics. They should focus on the important chapters to ace through class 11 and competitive exams. In this article, we will discuss the important tips to study the difficult chapters of class 11 maths. Students should understand the difficult concepts of class 11 maths to score high marks in mathematics.

Difficult chapters of class 11 Mathematics

Students should read this article to understand the ways to study the difficult chapters of class 11 maths. The tips given in this article will help the students to understand the difficult topics of class 11 maths and score high marks.

Understand Concepts of NCERT book

Students must understand the concepts of the class 11 NCERT book. Students should practice all questions and examples given in the class 11 maths book. If they have any doubt they can refer to the NCERT Solutions for class 11 maths. NCERT Solutions for class 11 mathematics available online can help students to understand the concepts of difficult chapters. The solutions are given in easy to understand language so that students can clear their doubts about the difficult questions and prepare for the final exams and competitive exams.

Sets

It is the first chapter in the class 11 NCERT Mathematics book. In this chapter, students will study Venn Diagrams, Union and intersection of sets, difference, and complement of sets, and basic properties of complement. It is a difficult chapter but students can refer to the NCERT solutions to understand the main concepts of this chapter.

Relations and functions

This chapter is related to the first chapter therefore students will not have much difficulty in understanding the concepts given in this chapter of class 11 maths.

Trigonometric Functions

This is the third chapter given in class 11 Maths. Students may find this chapter difficult as it is also a lengthy chapter. Students will study different topics such as positive and negative angles, measuring angles in radians and degrees, signs of trigonometric functions, deducing different identities, etc.

Algebra

Students study algebra from class 6 but the level of questions asked in class 11 mathematics is tougher than in the previous classes. Still, students find this chapter easy as compared to the other topics of class 11 maths. In this chapter, students will study the principle of mathematical induction, the process of the proof by induction, etc.

Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations

It is the fifth chapter of class 11 mathematics. Students will study complex numbers of quadratic equations, algebraic properties of complex numbers, statement of fundamental Theorem of Algebra, square root of a complex number, etc.

Linear Inequalities

It is also an easy chapter in class 11 mathematics. Students will study algebraic solutions of linear inequalities. The concepts given in this chapter are related to algebra and linear equations in one variable, graphical solution of linear inequalities, and graphical method of finding a solution of a system of linear inequalities.

Permutations and Combinations

It is also a difficult chapter in class 11 mathematics. Students must focus on this chapter as many questions are asked from this chapter in the final exam and the competitive exam. Students will study the fundamental principle of counting, derivation of formulae, permutations, and combinations, and simple applications.

Binomial Theorem

It is the eighth chapter of class 11 maths. It is an easy chapter and students will study the statement and proof of the binomial theorem for positive integral indices and Pascal’s triangle.

Sequences and Series

It is the ninth chapter. It is also an easy chapter. In this chapter students will solve the questions related to sequence and series, Arithmetic progression, Arithmetic mean, and Geometric progression. It is also a lengthy chapter and students will also learn to find the sum of n terms of a GP, infinite GP and its sum, relation between AM and GM, and formulae.

Straight Lines

It is an easy chapter and students will study two-dimensional geometry which they have already studied in previous classes. They will also study shifting of origin, the slope of a line and angle between two lines, general equation of a line, and different concepts of equations of a line.

Conic Sections

It is the eleventh chapter and it is also an easy chapter. Students will study circles, hyperbola, parabola, ellipse, a point, a straight line, and a pair of intersecting lines, standard equations, and properties of parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola.

Introduction to Three Dimensional Geometry

It is also an easy chapter in class 11 maths. Students will study coordinate axes; coordinate planes in three dimensions, coordinates of a point, and distance between two points, and section formula. Students already study these concepts in their previous classes which makes them easy to understand.

Limits and Derivatives

It is the thirteenth chapter of class 11 maths. Students will study the Intuitive idea of limit, limits of polynomials and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, a derivative of the sum, difference, product and quotient of functions, and derivative of a polynomial.

Mathematical Reasoning

It is an easy chapter and students will study mathematically acceptable statements, and validate the statements involving the connecting words, difference, converse, and contrapositive.

Statistics

It is also an easy chapter of class 11 maths. Students can easily understand this chapter from RS Aggarwal Solutions for Class 11 Mathematics Chapter 15. They can solve questions from the RS Aggarwal to practice this chapter. In this chapter, students will learn the range, mean deviation, variance, and standard deviation of the group and ungrouped data.

Probability

It is the last chapter of class 11 mathematics. Students will study events, the occurrence of events, Axiomatic probability, etc. Students study probability in lower classes as well so it is easy to understand.

Thus, students of class 11 can refer to different sources such as the NCERT book, NCERT Solutions, RS Aggarwal Solutions, and other reference books to prepare for class 11 mathematics. They can also solve sample papers and previous year’s question papers to understand the concepts and score high marks in class 11 maths.
