Tom Cruise is joined by mystery woman as he joins a host of stars at Adele concert

Tom Cruise was spotted with a mystery woman on Friday night as he joined a host of famous faces at the Adele concert in central London.

The actor, 59, is believed to have recently split from his Mission Impossible co-star Hayley Atwell, 40, who is now thought to be dating a music producer.

The Top Gun legend cut a casual figure with slim jeans and a fitted black polo t-shirt which showed off his muscular physique, completing the look with a suede jacket and matching black face mask.

His mystery brunette pal donned flared blue jeans, comfortable trainers and a pink Gucci cardigan.

The pair were all smiles as they entered the concert grounds in Hyde Park, before Tom stopped to speak to fans and pose for selfies while his beaming friend hanged back and watched on.

It comes after Tom and Hayley reportedly broke up in June, just a few months after reconciling following their first split in 2021. They had begun dating in 2020 after meeting on the set of Mission: Impossible 7, and were first reported to be an item in December of that year.

A source told the Sun: ‘Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for them. They have now decided they are better as friends.’

The insider also revealed that the fanfare around the couple after going public was too much to handle, adding: ‘They get on really well, and have fantastic chemistry, which is why they decided to quietly give the relationship another try earlier this year.

‘What was working behind closed doors didn’t work out so well when it was made public, and the fanfare around them as a couple exploded again.’

Tom hasn’t had a high-profile romance since his divorce from ex-wife Katie Holmes, 43, in 2012, while Hayley was said to have split from her English doctor ex at some point in 2020. The Hollywood icon shares daughter Suri, 16, with Katie.

Lorraine appeared to go fresh-faced as she grinned for the camera ahead of Adele’s highly anticipated performance.

But at one moment, Adele had to bring her concert to abrupt halt after she was alerted to fans who needed help.

In footage taken by a member of the audience, the singer could be heard belting out the first line of Skyfall when she noticed them waving.

Adele immediately stopped singing and sent security into the 65,000 strong crowd to help, as she urged people to ‘move out of the way.’

The megastar could been seen pointing out into the audience and shouting: ‘Stop stop stop, security?’

She also checked in on the unwell show-goer, shouting from stage: ‘Do you need security’s help? They’re coming.’

Attempting to direct the medical team to the person in need, Adele added: ‘Right in the middle there, can you see where they are all waving?’

As medics attempted to reach the guest, Adele could be heard asking crowds to move out of their way.

It comes as Adele was overcome with emotion as she took to the stage in front of a 65,000 strong crowd, as she returned for her first concert in five years.

The singer, who wore an elegant black halter neck off-the-shoulder gown, held back tears as she addressed the audience and told them she was ‘f*****g s******g herself’ after performing her first song.

Standing in the early evening sun, the sequinned detail on her dress glistened as she performed, with Adele shouting ‘I’m so happy to be back’ as she looked out across the mammoth crowd.

Adele kicked off with her first track and encouraged the star-studded audience, which included Tom Cruise, to sing along with her. Adele soon eased into it, as three songs in she declared: ‘My God, I’m back at home.’

The star reportedly only performed five tracks from her latest record 30 including I Drink Wine, and instead chose to treat the crowd to some of her classics instead of playing the whole album.

Adele has previously been plagued with vocal issues, but she kept them at bay during the performance by sipping on a hot drink to sooth her throat.

The crowd was almost as star-studded as her private An Audience With Adele show in March earlier this year, as she drew in the likes of James Corden, Cameron Diaz, Niall Horan and Milly Bobby Brown.

It marked the first public show Adele has played since she headlined two Wembley concerts in 2017. She postponed her Las Vegas residency in January.

On Thursday Adele excitedly continued to press on with plans for her upcoming London concerts at the BST Hyde Park Festival as she shared a glimpse of her rehearsals for the much-anticipated show.

The singer, 34, donned a casual ensemble in the social media images as she belted out a track during the practice session.

The Easy On Me hitmaker looked on fine form as she sat cross-legged on a chair and passionately sang into a microphone ahead of the performances on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 July.

Adele opted for a comfortable look for the studio rehearsals, donning a black hoodie, with jogging bottoms and trainers.

The mother-of-one went make-up free while allowing her caramel locks to loosely cascade over her shoulders.

Ensuring she stayed hydrated during the sing-through, Adele had a large bottle of water and a hot beverage on hand.

Wanting to drum up excitement for her rare live performances, Adele asked in her caption: ‘Who’s ready for tomorrow!?’

Last week, Adele took to Instagram once again to speak about her Hyde Park show as she said it was going to ‘blow’ her fans’ ‘socks off’.

She shared a photograph of herself alongside Mahalia, Gabrielle, Kacey Musgraves and Tiana Major9, who also form part of the show.

Alongside the post, she penned: ‘The line up for my Hyde Park shows next week is going to blow your socks off!!

‘An all female bill, from new artists that I’m obsessed with to the heavenly @spaceykacey to one of my favorite artists of all time @gabrielleuk who I’ve loved since I was 4!!

‘It’s going to be incredible, there’s a whole host of us performing all day, I can’t wait to share the main stage with you ladies.’

Look who’s back in town: Diva elegance with a dash of Butlin’s camp cheer…it could only be Adele, writes JAN MOIR from Hyde Park

By Jan Moir for the Daily Mail

Minutes before Adele appeared, the sun burst through the grey evening skies and bathed the Hyde Park stage in a golden light. If it was an omen, it was a good one. Of sorts.

‘Hello,’ she began to sing on the eponymous opening number . And then she almost broke down, overcome with… what? Emotion, nerves, stage fright?

No one knew for sure but our girl quickly rallied. ‘Help me,’ she pleaded and 60,000 fans provided an emotional boost with a hearty sing along.

With her honey blonde hair swept up in a chignon and wearing a black halter dress with gold and pearl earrings, Adele looked the very picture of diva elegance. But looks can be deceptive.

‘Hello,’ she began to sing on the eponymous opening number . And then she almost broke down, overcome with… what? Emotion, nerves, stage fright?

‘I’m sh***in’ meself,’ she announced before launching into a note-perfect rendition of I Drink Wine, a slow burn torch from her latest album. ‘I hope I learn to get over myself and stop trying to be someone else,’ she sings. Afterwards she added that it was ‘so strange to be in front of an audience again’.

It was, for all of us.

Earlier this year Adele cancelled her run of Las Vegas shows the day before they were scheduled to start, blaming Covid and delivery delays. ‘I’m gutted but it just ain’t ready,’ she said, in a tearful social media post.

Here she was at last, turning a grey summer night in the city into an emotional homecoming, into something unforgettable. (Above, thousands of fans gather in Hyde Park)

Since then there have been two television specials, both a carefully controlled performance filmed in front of invited celebrity audiences in Los Angeles and London.

Apart from these showcases it has been five long years since Adele last played a gig in the UK, or anywhere else. And two of those shows – at Wembley stadium – were cancelled because of voice problems.

Yet here she was at last, turning a grey summer night in the city into an emotional homecoming, into something unforgettable.

She sang highlights from the four albums that have chronicled the journey of her life; each named after the age she was when they were recorded.

First there was 19 in 2008, followed by 21 (2011), 25 (2015) and then last year’s divorce album, 30.

Adele (to the far left on the stage) is dwarfed by the stage set and big screen

Adele (to the far left on the stage) is dwarfed by the stage set and big screen

On stage, she does not disappoint, with her dagger manicure and perfect maquillage, a woman who is forever lush of lash and rich of voice, with a repertoire that ranges from the conversational and raspy to the tonsil-rattling power ballads such as Skyfall.

She stopped singing that too – but this time only to direct responders to someone who had been taken ill in the crowd.

Why does she get so nervous? There is barely a moment when she is not in total control on stage.

The songs kept on coming, tracing Adele’s arc from teenage girlfriend to lover, wife and mother. It is all there – the men she ‘cried high tides’ over; the good loves gone bad; the working life where she has tried to find ‘balance in the sacrifice’.

To some she is the queen of mumrock but to her millions of fans she sings about matters of the heart and to her millions of fans, that is all that matters.

Hers is an empire of ballads built on heartbreak, pain and the aftermath but I have to say, sometimes it is a little too much. ‘Any mums in the crowd tonight,’ she says, with a Butlin’s camp cheer.

Once upon a time she was simple Adele Adkins from Tottenham, now she is one of the biggest selling singers in pop history. So successful that, like Bono, Madonna and Elvis, she has become a mononym, known to all by her first name only.

So much has changed for her! Marriage, baby, divorce. Then a mansion buying spree in the Hollywood Hills and a new gluten-free, gym-rich lifestyle in California which clearly suits her well.

She must like it there, for she even has a tattoo of the LA skyline on her arm – yet at heart Adele is a London girl who has not changed and never will.

At the Brit Awards in February, she won best artist and best album to add to her groaning trophy cupboard. And in her acceptance speech she had some advice for new artists.

‘Never lose sight of why you are who you are. The reason people are into you is because there’s something you have in you,’ she said. ‘Don’t ever let go of that. Ever.’ Well it has certainly worked for her.
