Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all trying hard to get more high-profile new signings over the line as the summer transfer window continues to make headlines. The Gunners remain in pursuit of Lisandro Martinez after deals for Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira and want to strengthen their midfield further with Youri Tielemans and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Chelsea have yet to complete a transfer under Todd Boehly and are pushing to sign Nathan Ake and Matthijs de Ligt, though may lose out on the latter. The Blues are also reportedly keen on Sporting star Matheus Nunes and Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard as they wrap up a deal for Raheem Sterling before flying to the USA for a pre-season tour, having also considered wantaway Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tottenham also want more new recruits before the weekend, with Clement Lenglet said to have undergone a medical ahead of his loan switch from Barcelona and a fee for Djed Spence agreed with Middlesbrough. Spurs agree Spence deal

Tottenham have a agreed a deal worth up to £20million for Djed Spence, reports the Telegraph.

Protracted negotiations finally saw a breakthrough and the defender is now expected to undergo a medical and sign before the Spurs squad fly out to South Korea on Saturday.

Middlesbrough had rejected bids of £10m and £11m but a £15m fee upfront has sealed the deal.

Pep: Nunes ‘one of thebest in the world’

Reported Chelsea target Matheus Nunes has plenty of admirers, including Pep Guardiola.

The 23-year-old was last season singled out by the Manchester City boss after the two clubs met in the Champions League.

He said: “Sporting are a fantastic team, they are the champions of Portugal, which have a very strong league, with Porto and Benfica, they change the ball well, they have fast and intelligent players.

“I would say that Matheus Nunes is one of the best players in the world today.”

Chelsea line up £43m Nunes bid

Chelsea are lining up £43million offer for Sporting star Matheus Nunes, according to reports.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim on the front page of this morning’s newspaper that the Blues are ready to launch a bid for the midfielder.

Wolves have been linked but the player was holding out for a better option, which has seemingly arrived in the form of Chelsea.

Super-agent Jorge Mendes is likely to be involved in negotiations.

Bergwijn arrives for Ajax medical

Talking of Tottenham, pictures of Steven Bergwijn arriving for his medical at an Amsterdam hospital have emerged.

According to De Telegraaf, the forward will then head to the Amsterdam ArenA to finalise his move to Ajax.

Standard Sport understands Spurs have agreed a €30million (£26m) fee to sell Bergwijn, recouping almost the full fee paid for him in January 2020.

Torres a no-go for Spurs

Yesterday we brought you word that Tottenham hope to sign Pau Torres as well as Clement Lenglet.

The Mirror claimed Giovani Lo Celso could head back to Villarreal as part of any deal but Cadena SER this morning report that the defender is likely staying put.

Torres is happy to remain at Villarreal and could only be tempted by Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester City.

Manchester United want a speedy resolution in the growing Cristiano Ronaldo saga, reports Sky Sports.

The report details a fear within the club that the Portuguese veteran will dominate the focus around Old Trafford if he stays.

Therefore Chelsea and other interested parties will be given a price to meet and do a deal, despite United’s preference in keeping Ronaldo – who wants Champions League football.

Fulham set to sign Solomon and Pereira

Following a slow start to the transfer window that disillusioned manager Marco Silva, Fulham have now sparked into life.

After signing Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon for £18m last week, the newly-promoted Cottagers are now close to completing two more deals.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Israel winger Manor Solomon is due to undergo a medical in west London today ahead of a one-year loan switch from Shakhtar Donetsk.

He will be joined at Craven Cottage by Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira, who will sign from Manchester United on a three-year contract for £10m.

Tottenham eye Depay switch

The Memphis Depay to Tottenham rumours don’t look to be going away.

The Dutch international appears surplus to requirements at Barcelona under Xavi and could reportedly be available for a cut-price fee of around £17m.

According to Catalan outlet Sport, Spurs are interested in a deal for Depay having already bolstered their attacking options this summer with the £60m addition of Richarlison from Everton.

Tottenham are said to have lodged an enquiry over the former Manchester United forward.

Arsenal plot second Milinkovic-Savic bid

Speaking of Arsenal’s midfield ambitions, they continue to be linked with Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Gunners were rumoured to have submitted an initial offer for the Serbia international this week worth around €55m (£47.2m) that was quickly rebuffed by the Rome outfit.

Per Sport Witness, Italian outlet Il Messaggero claim that undeterred Arsenal could now return with a swift second bid and might be tempted to go as high as €65m.

Tielemans wants Arsenal move

Youri Tielemans seemingly has his heart set on a move to Arsenal this summer.

Things have gone somewhat quiet on that front over recent weeks after plenty of fervent rumours during the start to the window.

Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle are among the other clubs linked with Tielemans, who is out of contract at Leicester next summer.

But reports from CBS Sports cited by the Daily Express claim that the Belgian international is ready to join Arsenal, who bolstered their midfield with the arrival of Fabio Vieira last month.

Tielemans is said to be patiently waiting for a bid to land from the Gunners, which could be worth in the region of £30m.
