Unraveling the Majesty of Queen City Steamboat & Grill at TREC, Kuala Lumpur

Recently, I had the pleasure of joining a friend for a delightful dining experience at the newly opened Queen City Steamboat & Grill, nestled within the vibrant precinct of TREC Kuala Lumpur, along the iconic Jalan Tun Razak. This culinary gem not only offers a panoramic vista of Merdeka 118, Tun Razak Exchange, and the sprawling golf course, but also presents an exquisite steamboat and grill buffet, boasting an array of delectable options, all at remarkably affordable prices.

A Strategic Oasis in TREC, Kuala Lumpur

Strategically positioned right across from the valet and open car park, Queen City Steamboat & Grill is the brainchild of three visionary partners hailing from Bandar Permaisuri. This venture marks their second foray into the steamboat and grill scene, following the success of their inaugural restaurant in Bandar Permaisuri three years ago.

A Spacious Oasis for Gastronomic Pleasures

Spanning both the first floor and rooftop, this expansive establishment offers both indoor dining, complete with air-conditioning, and alfresco dining on the rooftop. Opting for the rooftop alfresco setting afforded us the privilege of relishing the mesmerizing transition from day to night, with the sunset painting the sky in hues of gold.

With a capacity to host up to 250 patrons concurrently, Queen City Steamboat & Grill is tailor-made for family gatherings, events, and more. The venue is equipped with an array of fans and blowers to ensure a comfortable dining experience, regardless of the weather. Fear not the rain, for they have a retractable pergola adorned with glass covers, providing shelter from the elements.

The Gastronomic Odyssey

Queen City Steamboat & Grill presents a fusion of Malay and Thai culinary traditions, offering an extensive selection ranging from succulent meats to ocean-fresh seafood, an assortment of crisp vegetables, and a tantalizing array of ready-to-devour delicacies, including fried rice, noodles, finger foods, appetizers, ice creams, fruits, delectable desserts, an assortment of beverages, refreshing COWAY water, and much more.

Prepare to be enchanted by a cornucopia of fresh steamboat offerings, from an array of fish balls to an assortment of vegetables, and a seafood bounty featuring plump prawns, assorted fish, tender clams, and plump mussels. Additionally, an assortment of marinated meats—lamb, beef, chicken, and fish—await the grill, each infused with distinctive marinades.

Soup Sojourn: A Choice of Rich Chicken or Zesty Tom Yam

The heart of any steamboat lies in its broth, and here, patrons can choose between a hearty chicken broth and a piquant tom yam variant. Personally, I found the tom yam soup to be a symphony of flavors, striking the perfect balance between spice and zest. Its moderate heat level allowed me to relish it alongside the fragrant fried rice.

A Superb Culinary Affair

In summation, my visit to Queen City Steamboat & Grill was nothing short of extraordinary. The ambiance was inviting, the fare was impeccably fresh and flavorsome, and the pricing remarkably reasonable. At just RM49.90 per adult for an all-you-can-indulge steamboat and grill experience, it’s an unbeatable offer. If you plan to break fast (berbuka puasa) here, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

It’s worth noting that this establishment is Muslim-owned and proudly Halal certified.
